Nelspruit's warm subtropical climate supports a remarkable variety of trees. Mature jacarandas, mangos, and avocados are common in older residential suburbs. The river valleys are home to sycamore fig, fever tree, and knob thorn. Bluegums and wattles appear on the urban fringe and older properties. We have felled and removed all of these species — each requires a different approach and equipment set-up.

Nelspruit receives heavy summer rainfall from October through March, with afternoon thunderstorms that can include strong gusts. Trees on saturated ground are at their most vulnerable during this period. We are on call for emergency storm response throughout the wet season and aim to respond to callouts within the same day for Nelspruit clients.

The Mbombela Local Municipality requires permits before felling certain protected indigenous species. Non-indigenous commercial species such as eucalyptus and wattle generally do not need a municipal permit.
