Start with the reason for the work
Pruning and trimming enquiries are about working on a tree you intend to retain, rather than taking the whole tree down.
You might be concerned about a particular branch, growth near a building, or the amount of space the tree occupies. Instead of simply asking for a “trim”, describe the problem and the result you have in mind. That gives a clearer starting point for discussing what work is appropriate.
Define the request
Which parts need attention?
Point out the branches or side of the tree you are asking about. If the concern involves a broken limb, a nearby roof, access to a driveway or overhead lines, say so early. Where a tree appears unstable or a branch may fall, keep clear of the area and do not climb to take photos.
A specific concern
Describe the branch, obstruction or growth pattern that prompted the enquiry.
Your intended result
Explain what you want to retain or change so the request is not left open to interpretation.

What to include in your enquiry
- Your area. Confirm whether you are in Mbombela or White River.

- Photos, if safe. A whole-tree view and a view of the specific concern can help explain the request.
