Short answer: there is no responsible single price for tree felling without seeing the tree. Height, species, access, nearby structures, power lines, waste handling and stump work can all change the job. A free quote is the best way to get a property-specific figure.
What affects a tree felling quote?
Tree height and structure
A small tree in an open garden may be handled differently from a tall, leaning or multi-stemmed tree beside a roof. A tree that must be dismantled in sections requires more planning and control than one with a clear fall zone.
Access and nearby hazards
Limited vehicle access, boundary walls, swimming pools, buildings, roads and overhead services can add time and require a different method. Power lines are particularly important: keep clear and contact the relevant utility when live infrastructure is involved.
Species and condition
Wood density, branch structure, decay, a root problem or storm damage can affect the assessment. A dead or unstable tree should not be climbed or cut by an untrained person.
What happens to the waste?
Ask whether branches will be chipped, logs cut into manageable pieces, or material removed. Wood chipping may be useful when a customer wants mulch left on site, while full removal is better when the area must be clear.
Stump grinding
Felling and stump grinding are separate jobs. If you need the area ready for paving, planting or construction, ask about stump grinding and the depth required.
